About Us

We are two pediatric Occupational Therapists (OTs) who have a pipe dream to create a place where parents can come for current, relevant therapeutic strategies for their children and where professionals can come to brainstorm, experience, and learn along with fellow practitioners, whether they be OTs, PTs, speech therapists, or teachers.  The site aims to provide advice and solutions to common parenting issues as well as therapeutic activities that will help children grow towards functional independence.  Together we have over 20 years of experience in pediatric OT.  We both have families with young children as well.  It is our hope that this blog will empower parents and pediatric professionals to come together to bring independence and function to every child we know and love.

In our posts, we will strive to provide kids crafts and kids games aimed at increasing children's fine motor skills, visual motor skills, and visual perceptual skills.  We will give fun, easy sensory ideas aimed at the sensory seeker, or sensory avoider.  Our posts will be relevant to children with autism, children with developemental delays, as well as typical children.  Readers will have the opportunity to ask developmental questions that will be answered by Occupational Therapists, experienced in Pediatric Occupational Therapy.  Come back often, as we will post frequently with new crafts and fun children's play, strengthening for children, as well as relevant information regarding children and development.

  5. Hi,
I'm a peds OT & have girl who is 5+ schooling. She is an Aspie who came through long way
to join the main stream class. @ present she has 2 issues ie 1) Pooh in pant & not sitting on the comode. But she sits on comode for pee. She joined my clinic about 4 months back.
As mother's information she had bad constipation issues as a kid.
2)She finds it difficult to follow teachers directions in a group but well manage in
    one on one sessions.

Please advice on these issues. MANEL.
