Device- free day

Ok, I promise this is my last post on the subject.  Last Sunday we declared a "device-free day" at our house.  NO devices at all.  Of course, we heard a lot of whining and complaining at first and the begging at random times throughout the day, but, we made it through.  And, you know what?  My kids actually were able to entertain themselves without electronics! Who would have thought?  They played with their other toys, and even did some school work and coloring.  They went outside to play!  Overall, it went pretty well. Yes, we as parents had to be tough, and, yes, it would have been a lot easier to just give in to their demands and begging, but we didn't and they lived through it. Goes to show, it can be done.  I challenge all of you to declare a device-free day in your houses and see just what happens.
